Häcker receives the BEST OF DESIGN award

 Rödinghausen. The renowned German interiors and lifestyle magazine “Schöner Wohnen”, which specializes in topics relating to furnishing, living, design and architecture, has awarded the BEST OF DESIGN award in the Kitchen category to Häcker Küchen GmbH & Co. KG for its handleless wooden veneer fronts in Vienna rattan style AV 6085-GL from the systemat product line. 

Elaborately produced design with a fine texture 
The jury was impressed by the stylish woven look and feel of the wood veneer front in Vienna cane style, which reinterprets this traditional design. The woven pattern is reminiscent of the flair of the Viennese coffee house scene with its famous Thonet chairs, thus reviving a piece of cultural history. According to the jury, the Viennese rattan fronts are also ‘masterpieces of an elaborate manual production technique’, with eight square meters of veneer required for each square metre front. Two layers of solid-dyed poplar veneer are applied to the base material. This is followed by the top layer, the actual veneer. The manufacturing process involves a sheet with the Vienna cane texture being pressed into the veneer at a pressure of 400 tons and a temperature of 120 degrees, explains Michael Dittberner, Head of Product Development and Management. And the 'finely textured design,' which evokes traditional craftsmanship, was another factor in the jury awarding Häcker’s front model the 'BEST OF DESIGN' prize.” “This award is more than just a prize – it is a recognition of the commitment, passion and fantastic work by our entire team,” says Karin Padinger, Head of Marketing.
