AV 5015 Sand Beige and AV 1091 Natural Walnut: a beige kitchen for everyday living

Simply Spend More Time at Home

Can functionality and comfort go hand in hand? This kitchen answers the question without even asking it. Light, handle-less cabinet fronts in sand beige lend the room a sense of calm. Behind and beside them, walnut wood comes into view—warm, grained, and inviting. It’s a design for people who live openly and enjoy having guests around, without pots and appliances dominating the space. What’s needed is right there. What isn’t needed disappears behind pocket doors. And that’s precisely what creates the intrigue of this beige kitchen: closed surfaces that recede into the background, and open elements that are allowed to take center stage. You can see just how deep the design possibilities of this premium line go in Häcker’s systematproductworld.

Sand beige made of polymer glass: the calm foundation

The cabinet fronts are AV 5015—a polymer-glass front. A 2-millimeter-thick polymer coating forms the surface of the front and creates the silky-matte, shimmering glass look that gives this kitchen such a serene appearance. The surface is velvety smooth, impact-resistant, and highly scratch-resistant, and is also easy to maintain in everyday use.
Sand beige was a deliberate choice over white. White accentuates edges and contrasts; a warm beige tone absorbs light and reflects it back more softly. The room appears brighter without feeling cold—and wood finds its place alongside it, rather than standing out.
Add to that the handle-free design: generous cabinet fronts and floor-to-ceiling sliding doors without visible handles create an almost architectural surface. Read more about what makes a handle-free kitchen work in everyday life in the kitchen magazine.

The walnut cabinetry: the second look of this kitchen

The walnut cabinetry is the second face of this kitchen. Natural walnut is one of Häcker’s designer cabinet finishes: Here, the cabinetry is not merely an interior component but a design element in its own right. It is intentionally left visible, not hidden.

This is evident in the display cabinets and open shelves, which look almost like living room furniture. Glass doors in bronze metal frames, illuminated glass shelves, vertical light strips: a stage for glassware, ceramics, and the items you love to display.

The designer cabinet becomes visible wherever the front recedes: in the display cases, on the open shelves, and inside the open tall cabinet. Natural walnut sets the warm tone there, a tone that the sand-beige fronts deliberately leave open.

Pocket Doors: Storage Space That Disappears Neatly

Pocket doors are floor-to-ceiling doors that slide to the side and then disappear into the cabinet. They do not protrude into the room, as an open hinged door would. When open, they fully reveal the cabinet; when closed, the tall cabinets create a uniform look.

Behind them, this kitchen features an area that can be left open for display yet still closed discreetly when needed. A bar area with wine refrigerators and glass holders. A coffee station with its own countertop where the machine can remain. Both are immediately accessible for everyday use—and can be hidden away again in seconds when entertaining guests for dinner.

The units extend over 221 centimeters up to the ceiling. That’s the real benefit: The kitchen can be presented differently depending on the occasion—as an open work zone or as a quiet living space where everything is hidden behind a closed surface.

Light as a Design Element

Lighted display cases and glass shelves showcase glasses, tableware, and decorative items. The light isn’t directed at the individual items, but rather from behind and below them—it highlights contours rather than illuminating surfaces. The indirect lighting is controlled via a remote control, light switch, or smart home system. The lighting installation should be discussed early in the planning process to ensure optimal lighting for the kitchen.

The Kitchen Island as a Social Hub

The kitchen island brings everything together. Its countertop, made of light Calacatta marble with golden veining, echoes the warm tones of the walnut and provides a lively contrast to the serene cabinet fronts. The extended countertop becomes a bar—the place where people talk, laugh, cook, and enjoy themselves.

A cooktop with an integrated range hood is installed: The hood is built into the cooktop itself, keeping the view above the island unobstructed. Those who prefer a ceiling-mounted range hood will find the ceiling fan to be an equally logical solution—both options work well with the island.

The article on kitchen islands demonstrates how to properly position an island in a room, taking into account walkways, seating, and utility connections. And because this kitchen is designed to be open to the living area, it’s also worth taking a look at the open-concept kitchen.

systemat: where home is where you belong

What sets this kitchen apart are its materials: a polymer-glass front with a 2-millimeter-thick coating, genuine natural stone on the island, and a designer cabinet that highlights the wood grain. Each of these elements is individually selected and coordinated with the others.

At systemat, individuality is born from precisely this freedom. Every kitchen is custom-built; fronts, cabinet colors, and heights are tailored to each design—base cabinets in three heights, wall cabinets in six, and tall cabinets in eight.

The same high standards apply to the interior as well. The SDL pull-out features the narrowest frame on the market. The frame is the structure that supports the front panel: the narrower it is, the more interior space you have. Add to that a cabinet depth of 61 centimeters instead of the standard 56—that’s about ten percent more storage space in the base cabinet.

Behind this premium kitchen is a family-owned company that has been in business since 1898 and is now run by the fifth generation. Production takes place in Germany, at two locations across five plants. Häcker offers a 5-plus-5-year warranty on systemat.
